My name is Andy Mullan, and I am a Christian evangelist in Birmingham.
My aim is publish the Biblical world-view; to share the wonders of God’s grace towards us; and to make plain the only way of salvation that is found in The Lord Jesus Christ.
There is no other world-view that makes sense of the world as it is. There is no other message that speaks to the reality of our lives today in such clarity. There is no other person I can turn to that will give me the hope I am looking for, than The Lord Jesus Christ, and my wish through this blog is to share with you something of this hope.
Let me tell you first of all something about myself.
I was born in Belfast, and grew up going along to church. However, I soon realised that no matter how much I went along; tried to live up to the standards my parents expected and learnt the Bible stories etc, that in itself did not give me the peace and hope that I could see in the lives of others.
What was wrong with me? Why did I gravitate towards sinful ways which left me feeling guilty over and over again, taking the joy out of life?
The answer I knew was that I did not know Christ Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. I had not been regenerated, born again, created anew. I was a product of God’s creation that was marred by sin. I was dead spiritually and in bondage to the flesh.
It didn’t matter whether I had heard the Bible as a child or not. It didn’t matter whether my parents were Christians or not. It didn’t matter whether I was baptised or not. The truth of the matter was I was a sinner and so could not know anything of the divine peace, the divine joy and the divine hope on offer through Christ.
First of all I had to acknowledge my guilty state before a holy God, and in the words of the Apostle Paul say “O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me?”
My sin thus acknowledged and repented of, I turned to Christ as the only Saviour of sinners, and clung to Him.
Why? For He, as eternal God, has been “made sin for us, He who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him”.
Praise God for the cross. Praise God for the empty tomb.
“Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, and was buried, and rose again the third day, according to the Scriptures, and was seen” 1 Cor 15
